Courses allow you and other players to explore improv themes in a multi-week program. These programs vary from the fundamentals to specialisations and formats.

Courses we teach this block

Level 1 (L1) – Fundamentals

Explore the exciting world of improv and become familiar with the core principles of acceptance, commitment, and ensemble building. No prior experience is needed as we guide you through playful exercises designed to silence your inner critic and unlock your natural creativity. You will learn how to build scenes from scratch with your fellow participants, discovering the joy of saying “Yes, And” to every spark of inspiration in a supportive and high-energy environment.

Level 2 (L2) – Specialisations

( We recommend completing at least two fundamentals before starting these courses.)

Characters & Relationships: What makes a character tick? What makes an audience lean in and connect? And how do two performers build a relationship on stage that truly resonates? In this course, you’ll explore techniques of finding, creating and shaping characters. You’ll dig into the physicality of character work, the challenges of sustaining depth over a scene so you can build more diverse, intriguing characters and bring them to life alongside others on stage. You’ll explore what makes a relationship land emotionally, the shared history, the unspoken dynamics, the give-and-take that turns scenes into stories people feel invested in.

Level 3 (L3) – Formats and Advanced Topics

(We recommend completing at least two fundamentals and two specialisations before starting these courses.)

The Match: Welcome to The Match. The world-famous theatrical competition format from Quebec where two teams go head-to-head under the watchful eye of a (purposely unfair) referee. The objective? Winning the heart (and the vote) of the audience with your team! Ready for a fun challenge? Jump in the rink and perfect your improv skills by navigating categories, time constraints, and teamwork! It’s high-stakes, high-energy, and the only sport where ‘failing beautifully’ might actually get you points.

Armando: Real Life, Reimagined: “How do real-life moments transform into rich, unforgettable stage magic? Welcome to The Armando; where raw human honesty meets spontaneous scene work. A single real story creates a ripple effect of scenes, bridging authentic personal monologues with fast-paced, intuitive improvisation. In this course, you’ll master the art of turning simple, real-life moments into vivid, unexpected comedic worlds. No short-form gimmicks or restrictions… just deep listening, sharp instincts, and the thrill of translating genuine stories into rich characters, hilarious tangents, and seamless performance.
